Cityspace selected for government framework agreement
Cityspace sole supplier of wireless broadband for both public access and transport networks in new OGCBuying.solutions framework agreement
London, 9th January 2008 – Cityspace, a leading provider of urban digital networks, has been selected as one of the government-accredited telecoms suppliers within the new Telecoms Networks Framework agreement being awarded by OGCBuying.solutions this month.
Cityspace is one of 37 telecom and network providers across 12 categories to have been awarded a framework agreement aimed at reducing costs and increasing efficiencies in telecom procurement across central and local public sector bodies. Cityspace is unique among the 11 providers of wireless broadband in its deployment of wireless solutions for both public access and for large scale transport network infrastructures.
“Being awarded this framework agreement is a significant endorsement of our wireless broadband capability,” comments Ian Muller, Director of Wireless, Cityspace.
“It reflects the success of the wireless networks we have deployed and manage across the UK and, most importantly, is testament to the value that Cityspace brings to local authorities and transport executives in the planning and execution of complex wireless networks and applications.”
OGCBuying.solutions is an executive agency of the Office of Government Commerce which is responsible for maximising the purchasing clout of the taxpayer's pound. The addition of the new Telecoms Networks framework to its existing family of agreements creates a highly valuable resource; helping buyers to save time and money with telecom procurement through an efficient, effectively vetted, tender process.
The total business value to listed suppliers has been estimated at approximately £500m over the next four years.
